According to Transfer Room, the Benfica squad was valued at 227 million euros at the start of the 2022/23 season, but by the end of the year, their market value had risen to 450 million euros, representing a growth of 223 million euros. This makes Benfica the second team with the highest increase in squad value during the past season.
Transfer Room highlights the individual growth and appreciation of players such as António Silva, who was not initially included in the valuation, Gonçalo Ramos, who saw his value rise by 38 million euros following his participation in the 2022 World Cup, and João Mário.
Among the top teams whose squads increased in value, Brighton comes out on top with a growth of 258 million euros, followed by Napoli with 168 million euros. Sporting Lisbon ranks fifth with an increase of 128 million euros, while FC Porto is in 13th place.
