Feyenoord's coach praises the value of Kokçu's transfer

Orkun Kokçu's recent transfer to Benfica is still a topic of discussion at Feyenoord, with coach Arne Slot defending the value of the sale. In an interview with ESPN, Slot stated, 'To be dissatisfied with a €30M sale... Comparisons with other clubs are a mistake because Ajax did very well in the Champions League for several years. Two years ago, selling Summerville for €1.2M was a great sale for Feyenoord, so receiving €30M is very good.' Slot also expressed regret that the entire transfer fee cannot be reinvested, stating, 'We are still feeling the effects of the years when no one was sold. This was not completely resolved with the €70M in sales last season, the €30M for Kökcü, and the Champions League money. The problems from previous years have not disappeared.'
